Home School/Troop Lessons on Blacksmithing

We also offer the opportunity to engaging in basic blacksmithing lessons. Anyone age 3 and over can make a RR spike knife, Horseshoe knife, bottle opener, or other forged item. We specialize in working with people with physical limitations. Contact us if you have questions.

One and Two Day Classes
Here's what to expect.

LOCATION
The class is located at our home forge in San Antonio, unless other arrangements are required.
​
TIME
Class will begin at 10:00 am on the selected day(s) and end at approximately 5:30 pm. Traffic on the 35 is typically backed up, so allow 20 minutes extra travel time, we always welcome in people who show early!
EQUIPMENT
We provide protective equipment and all materials. The class includes a paracord, wood, or antler handle. We have other synthetic and stabilized handle materials to upgrade, if desired, which can be chosen and paid for during the class.
CLOTHING
Wear clothes you are ok with getting ruined. Wear natural materials, no synthetics. Synthetics melt into the skin when they catch on fire, it is not fun. Any comfortable, close toed shoe is ok. Most of the class is done standing, so choose comfort over style.

Specialty Classes
A few times a year we offer a pipe tomahawk class.
You will forge a working pipe tomahawk from a rifle barrel in one day. You will enjoy using your pipe and the bragging rights you made it yourself. Follow our Facebook for announcements and check our calendar for special class offerings.

TEAM BUILDING/LARGE GROUPS/REUNIONS
We work with your group to make bladesmith or blacksmith projects and engage in meaningful interactions. This experience will create lasting memories. Call to schedule your group.

HOMESCHOOL/TROOPS
We work you your group to make a bladesmith or blacksmith project. We provide education on the history of blacksmithing and shop safety. We work leaders and educators to include talking points to meet curriculum/badge requirements.
